30 January, 2007Choosing the right sunglasses for your face
25 January, 2007Getting the Right Fit
The sunglass size should be in proportion with the face size. This means that smaller sunglasses are best for smaller faces; larger sunglasses for larger faces. The frame shape should contrast with, that is, be the opposite of, the shape of the face.
These tips must not be taken as rules but they can help you to choose your right frame.
So let’s start …

Oval face
Almost
any style works for oval face. Experiment with the latest looks, such
as wraparounds or shields. Square shaped frames with gently rounded
edges and higher temples also look good on an oval face.
Frame suggestions : Any frame shape

Round face
Frames
should make the face appear longer and thinner. In general, look for
frames equal to or slightly wider than the broadest part of the face.
Minimize the curves and add definition with soft, angular, rectangular
styles or double brow styles. Higher temples will create a longer
profile. Sunglasses with brow bars also pull the eye upward, making the
face appear longer.
Frame suggestions : Wider frames with angular / rectangular styles

Diamond shape
This
face shape has wide or high cheekbones with a narrow forehead and chin.
Oval sunglasses will soften the contour of the face, although softly
curved square frames will work as well. Make sure the styles are no
wider than the top of the cheekbones.
Frame suggestions : Oval, Square, Rimless

Square face
This face shape consists of a strong jawline, a broad forehead and wide
cheekbones. Reduce the angles with soft, curvy styles that will give
the face some definition such as cat-eye styles. The classic ovals also
works well for this face shape.
Frame suggestions : Oval, Round, Cat Eyes

Oblong face
Widen and shorten the face with sunglass styles that do not extend
beyond the widest part of the face. Round or square shapes will look
great on this face. Frames with short horizontal and long vertical
lines also work. Decorative or contrasting temples add width to the
face.
Frame suggestions : Round, Square

Triangle shape
This
face has a narrow jaw and a wide forehead. Soften the lower portion of
the face by accenting the eye area. Styles such as cat- eyes should
angle outward at the top corner and be wide enough to balance the
jawline. You can also try metal frames with rimless bottoms.
Frame suggestions : Frames with a Straight Top Line, Cat Eyes
Big Hairy Jungle Bitch
19 January, 2007A woman who disappeared in the jungles of northeastern Cambodia as a
child has apparently been found after living in the wild for 19 years,
police and a man claiming to be her father said Thursday.
The woman – believed to be Rochom P’ngieng, who would now be 27
years old – cannot speak any intelligible language, so details of her
saga have been difficult to confirm.
“When I saw her, she was naked and walking in a bending-forward
position like a monkey… She was bare-bones skinny,” said Sal Lou, who
says he is her father.
“She was shaking and picking up grains of rice from the ground
to eat. Her eyes were red like tigers’ eyes,” Sal Lou, 45, told The
Associated Press by telephone from Oyadao district in Rattanakiri
province, where the woman was found last Saturday.
Rochom P’ngieng, then 8 years old, disappeared in 1988 when she
was herding buffalo in a remote jungle area, said Chea Bunthoeun, a
deputy provincial police chief.
The province is about 325 kilometers (200 miles) northeast of Cambodia’s capital Phnom Penh.
Mao San, police chief of Oyadao district, described the woman as ‘half-human and half-animal.’
Sal Lou, a village policeman who is a member of the Pnong ethnic
minority, said he recognised his daughter by a scar on her right arm, a
result of a cut from a knife she played with when she was young.
The woman was discovered this month after a villager noticed
that food disappeared from a lunch box he left at a site near his farm,
Chea Bunthoeun said.
“He decided to stake out the area and then spotted a naked
human being, who looked like a jungle person, sneaking in to steal his
rice,” he said.
The villager gathered some friends and the group managed to catch the woman on Jan. 13.
Since being found, the woman has had difficulty adjusting to normal life, apparently because of her long stay in the wild.
Sal Lou said it was virtually impossible to communicate with her because she cannot speak the local Pnong language.
When she is hungry, she pats her stomach as a signal.
“If she is not sleeping, she just sits and glances left and right, left and right,” he said.
Sal Lou said his family was now closely watching the woman after
she took off her clothes Thursday morning and acted as if she was going
back into the jungle.
Many questions still remain unanswered about the circumstances
of her disappearance and what happened to her in the wild, said Mao
San, the district police chief.
Authorities want medical experts to take DNA samples from the
parents and the woman to see if they match. The parents have given
verbal consent for such a test, he said.

Police: Girl Locked in Room for 2 Years
18 January, 2007(01-17) 19:14 PST Oshkosh, Wis. (AP) –
A 13-year-old girl’s father and
stepmother were arrested after the teen told police she had been locked
in a room for nearly two years, allowed out only for meals, chores and
one-minute timed bathroom breaks, authorities said.
Clint M. Engstrom, 32, and Lynn M. Engstrom,
35, were charged Tuesday with one count each of causing mental harm to
a child, a felony.
“The behavior they engaged in and the
conditions this child was kept in are just appalling,” District
Attorney Christian Gossett said.
According to the criminal complaint, the girl
had been locked in a small bedroom since February 2005 as punishment
for bad behavior, spending 22 hours a day in the room that had an alarm
and dead-bolt lock on the door.
A camera recorded the girl’s activities, and
the room’s only furnishings were a urine-soaked mattress, blanket,
pillow and empty dresser, the complaint said.
The couple were jailed on $25,000 bond each.
It was not clear whether they had attorneys in the case. A preliminary
hearing was set for Jan. 25.
Detectives learned the girl’s story when her
parents took her to a hospital on Jan. 12 because she was hearing
voices, Gossett said. He said he did not anticipate filing other
charges against the parents.
The complaint said a search found that there
were toys and electronics for three other children living at the home,
about 90 miles northwest of Milwaukee, but virtually nothing for the
13-year-old girl.
If convicted, the couple face more than 12 years in prison each and a $25,000 fine.
Gossett said he did not know where the girl
was on Wednesday. The county social services office said it could not
comment on individual cases.
